What Facebook changes are you most impressed with?

Well Facebook is at it again! The changes just keep on coming; but unlike times past, some of these changes I really like. It’s beneficial to understand some of these changes for your own personal accounts, but especially if you manage clients accounts like we do. I’ve listed a few of the changes that I like below and would love for you to post your comments about the ones you like…

Subscribe
I truly like the “Subscribe” button that allows you to follow someone without getting their “friendship” approval so-to-speak. 🙂 If you have “high profile” clients, the “subscribe” button is a great way for your clients to maintain a growing fan base without letting everyone into their personal world.

Ticker
I’m really “lovin'” the fact that you can use the ticker to check out what’s going on with those you engage with in real time. You can also hover over their updates to directly connect with them as well. “Ticker” is also great if you decide you want to limit what you see from certain people; as hovering over their updates offers options to customize what you see from them. This is truly a great feature and I believe it can be turned off if it bothers you.

Friend Lists
I love lists! In fact I’ve been invited by an Emmy Award winning producer to do a guest blog post on a “List” for working virtually (stay tuned for that one to all our Newsletter subscribers!) So, again, lists are truly “the bomb” in my book. Again, you simply use your mouse to hover over your friends and add them to or segment them by list. This can be used as a great marketing tool for those that manage Facebook accounts for clients.

Well as I mentioned, I liked “some” of the changes 🙂 I know I haven’t listed them all (i.e. Timeline 🙂 So let me know which ones you like and why…

  1. I love the new Facebook change to the news Ticker. The ability to view new posts at first sight after signing in and not having to view each individual page allows for a quicker response which is a great time saver.
    Well done FB.

  2. I like the new changes in Facebook but some of it is a bit confusing. Trying to locate where you can ‘Like’ a person has changed and appears to be non existent on some pages. I am happy to learn that ‘subscribe’ seems to do the same thing but finding that feature is not too easy either. I’m sure as I go along I will learn to love the new changes.

    1. Hey Barb:

You know I think Facebook, should probably take a break with the changes after this set, as a lot of people are with you in saying things are a bit confusing and they typically are with Facebook changes. Since they just had another round of changes and now these, they might want to ease the pedal, a bit. People don’t mind a little change, but constant change is one thing that people just done like. I’ve heard what you just stated all too often and I thank you for sharing.

      1. I tend to agree with you on that note, Shilonda. The many changes can make us almost dizzy with confusion, although I really didn’t take much note of them.

As I mentioned on your LinkedIn discussion page, I just waited for the dust to settle.

I wonder what is in store for us and Facebook in the near future?

        1. Thanks for your input Delilah and thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments! You are so right about getting dizzy with confusion and I do hope Facebook takes the consideration of it’s many members into play before showering us with another batch of changes. All the best and thanks again for your input!

  3. What I like about the changes facebook made is that video call features powered by skype. It is more convenient to communicate with my friends and colleagues.

Though I am also confused to some of their changes just like when they update the layout of FB, but gradually I can adopt to it.
