Create Your Own Job This Year with Your Experience

Are you searching and searching for employers who will allow you to work from home or virtually? Do you feel like you’re hitting a wall when you try to bid on jobs because others are more experienced or out bid you? If so, you can create your own job this year. It’s not hard to create a job for yourself in the virtual world that we live in. Here are a few tips that may help you create your own job this year.

Find Out What You Enjoy Doing and Have Experience In

The first step in creating your own job is identifying what you enjoy doing and what you have the most experience doing. When you create a job for yourself, you must make sure it’s something you enjoy. This is half the battle. Many of us have already worked in jobs we didn’t necessarily enjoy. When you create a job for yourself, make sure it’s work you enjoy. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad if your chosen field isn’t what they think you should be doing. There is dignity in all moral and legal work. This doesn’t mean that you’ve worked in a traditional sense performing the work. You can volunteer or offer to do the work you love free of charge for a short period of time.

Do Your Market Research

Now that you’ve identified a skill that you enjoy and have some experience in this type of work, it’s time to do your research. There may or may not be a need or market for what you want to do. This step is crucial to your success. Ensure that when you’re ready to offer your products or services, there is a market out there ready to buy.

Spread the Word

It’s time to tell everyone you know about your new job! Use social media, informal conversations, traditional methods like business cards and don’t forget a great website. Let others know you’re happy to offer your products or services for them to test out. Make sure you’re also inviting those you tell, to tell others. Lastly, don’t fret if things aren’t moving as quickly as you’d like. In fact, I recommend you create your new job while you’re still working. This will ensure you have a safety net. If you have thoughts to add, or your own success story in creating a job for yourself, please be sure share in the comments.
