Working hard can be the order of the day for freelancers. You want to ensure your clients are pleased and then it’s on to the next. You may get to the point where you feel you are working too much. If this is the case, it’s time to reassess your daily activities. There are always a few easy and simple actions you can take to modify your work habits, such that you have time for yourself and other activities.
Set aside break times
Ensure that every day you take a least 2 breaks. As a freelancer, you can decide how much time you need to take a nap, take care of family duties or run a few errands. Trust me the email and voice mails will be there when you get back. 🙂
Delegate
Try your best to have teammates or other freelancers that can help you when the work load gets too heavy. Delegating can be scary, as you want to be sure the person(s) working with you understand how important it is to please your clients. However, once you get over the hump of delegating, working too much, will be a thing of the past.
Get out in Nature, even when it’s Cold
The Winter months and early Spring should not be an excuse to stay inside. If you find yourself working too much, take your tablet, laptop or smartphone and head for a balcony, stoop or park like location with Wi-fi. You may not be able to stay out in the fresh, cool air for long; but I find that enjoying God’s creation always helps me put things in perspective.
