What’s Your Favorite Social Site for Business?

I totally love Twitter! It allows me to engage with old and new business associates as well as potential clients and businesses that I like. On Twitter I’ve been able to speak to Magic Johnson’s wife: Cookie who has her own line of jeans, the editor of Upscale magazine to pitch my clients, Kennon Earl one of the stars of “Selling L.A.” one of my favorite real estate shows on HGTV (he also follows me) and even one of the first and most beautiful super models in the world Beverly Johnson (who also has a show on Oprahs network OWN and also follows me).

LinkedIN is totally awesome when it comes to connecting with current and new business associates. Virtual Work Team LLC has a private group on LinkedIN where we support and encourage one another in our respective and varied business endeavors. I like Pinterest for traffic generation and sharing my personal likes and beautiful photos on healthy eating and interior design. YouTube is an awesome vehicle to help instruct our audience with my QuickTip videos on a variety of business topics. On YouTube we also provide subscribers with glimpses of valuable  interviews with experts that can help them thrive in business. All of which can be heard in full in our membership area. Facebook has always been and continues to be my least favorite social media site. However, there are over a billion people on Facebook (literally), so I think we need to keep a business presence there as well; for now anyway. :)

I want to know how you’re using social media in your business. Share your thoughts in the comments below and as always, I’ll answer acknowledge them personally. Enjoy your work week and get your social media juices flowing!

Getting Your Services or Products in the Pinterest Gift Store

If you have a service based business, you can still use Pinterest and the Pinterest Gift Store to get your services noticed by an entirely new demographic of potential clients. Many feel that Pinterest is only for those that sell products or people who just like pinning pretty pictures. However, Pinterest has been one of the largest drivers of traffic back to our website and we’ve only been on Pinterest for a few months; starting in 2012! If you have Google Analytics set up, you’ll want to check it after utilizing the video tips below to see just how much traffic Pinterest is driving to your website. Watch the video below to get set up in the Pinterest Gift Store. The video also provides tips on pinning videos on Pinterest and an overview on how Pinterest works and how to get started. Pinterest has my Interest!

Everyone knows that social media isn’t going anywhere and it’s growing every day. Those who know me, know that my company: Virtual Work Team LLC has primarily concentrated on what I consider the big four: LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. All of these have been significant in helping my company make new business and personal connections. However, when Pinterest first came on the scene, I wasn’t too sure about how it would play into the scheme of things for us. However, after signing up just a few weeks ago, I’ve found that “Pinterest has my Interest!”  I’m not sure if anyone else has ever said that, but I’m a poet and I know it and I love to rhyme all the time!

The virtual pin-board on Pinterest has allowed me to share interests and passions in a visual way with our audience, followers, friends and clients. Many of the aforementioned, know that I love health and I’ve been able to showcase pictures of some of the homemade meals that I’ve prepared for my family and for myself on Pinterest. However, if you’re a business owner, you may want to know how investing time on Pinterest will benefit your business. This was my concern too, because I truly enjoy social media and didn’t want to waste time on a site that didn’t profit Virtual Work Team in some way. Well, here’s the main reason that Pinterest has my interest: it has been reported by “Shareholic” that in January of 2012, Pinterest sent more referral traffic back to the websites of those publishing images there, than Google+, YouTube and LinkedIN combined! That’s MAJOR! This is not mere rhetoric. After signing up for Pinterest, check your Google analytics to confirm that Pinterest is actually sending loads of visitors back to your website. I did, and in only a few weeks, the pictures I’ve posted on Pinterest have been referring visitors back to Virtual Work Team LLC. Not only that, but one of our pictures on Pinterest was featured on Family Focus Blog, view it here. I’d love for you to visit me on Pinterest, and if you would like an invite to follow us, I’d be more than happy to send you one.  Click the following button to “Follow Us” on PINTEREST Follow Me on Pinterest  I can’t wait to see your favorite hobbies, pastimes or interests!

Has Pinterest been of benefit to you?

When it comes to social media, I’ve decided that Virtual Work Team will use what works  for our business. While we’ll always implement any new social networking page on behalf of   a client, the experts advise that you shouldn’t try to join every single social outlet there is. Instead, you should focus on what works for your business or brand. I’ve therefore decided for now, to stick to what I call “The Big Four” Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN and YouTube (watch for new videos this month). They work best for us and we’re very pleased with the results of being on those sites. As a business owner, you want to make sure you’re not only keeping all your social media sites current, but that they are providing the exposure your business or brand needs.

With that being said, I have an open mind to what’s new and poppin’ for business owners when it comes to social media. I’m sincerely looking into Pinterest because of what one report has said about this website. A study was done that indicated the Pinterest sends more new traffic to websites than Google+. Here’s the direct quote from the article: “Pinterest drove more referral traffic to sites in January than Google+, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn and MySpace all combined” read the article here. So have you used Pinterest? Follow Me on Pinterest Have you noticed that it’s of benefit to your business? How often do you pin something there? Inquiring minds want to know. Please leave your comments on the blog and feel free to also answer us Twitter @virtualworkteam and on Facebook; I’ll respond to all answers personally. Thanks!
